Let's plan your perfect sunset cruise.

The Route: Golden Hour at Land's End

Your cruise leaves Cabo San Lucas Marina and rounds the peninsula toward Land's End, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. You'll pass Lover's Beach and the sea lion colony before reaching El Arco just as the light turns gold — the moment every photographer in Cabo waits for. From there, your captain eases into open Pacific water and positions the boat for the sunset itself, with the Arch silhouetted behind you and nothing but horizon ahead. Because the charter is 100% private, there's no rush and no fixed script: linger at the Arch for photos, request a second pass, or simply drift with a drink in hand while the sky does the work.

What's Included on Your Private Sunset Cruise

All-inclusive means exactly that — nothing to order, nothing to upgrade, no surprises at the dock.

Premium Open Bar
Sparkling wine, vodka, tequila, whisky, rum and gin — unlimited for the whole cruise, served by your crew.
Fresh Bites Prepared On Board
Burritos, quesadillas, ceviche, guacamole and fruit skewers, freshly prepared by your crew while you watch the sky change color. Dietary requirements accommodated with advance notice.
Sound System
Bluetooth sound system on board — bring your own golden-hour playlist or let the crew set the mood.
Towels On Board
Fresh towels provided — one less thing to carry from the hotel.
Licensed Captain & Crew
A licensed captain and bilingual crew handle everything — navigation, drinks, food, and the best photo angles on the water.
Hotel Pickup
Free round-trip hotel transport with the Phoenix sailboat charter; available for $140 USD round trip on all other boats.

Getting There Is Easy

Most sunset cruise operators in Cabo give you a marina slip number and let you figure out the rest — a taxi through downtown traffic at rush hour, right when everyone else is heading to the marina for the same sunset. We do it differently: the Phoenix sailboat sunset charter includes free door-to-door hotel pickup, and on any other boat you can add round-trip transport for $140 USD. Our driver meets you at your hotel lobby, drops you at the boat, and after the cruise takes you straight back. No taxi lines at the marina after dark, no navigating the dock with a group, no stress before the most relaxing part of your vacation.

Departure Times

Timed so you're on the water for golden hour and the actual sunset.

Sunset Cruise: 4:00 – 7:00 PM

The Phoenix sunset charter runs 4:00 – 7:00 PM, putting you past The Arch in golden hour light and on open water for the actual sunset. Departure times may vary seasonally and are confirmed at booking, matched to the sunset hour for your date — you never miss the show.

December – April only

Sunset Cruise + Whale Watching Season

From December through April, humpback whales migrate through Cabo waters — and a sunset cruise doubles as a whale watching tour. Late afternoon is prime time for surface activity: breaches, tail slaps, and mothers with calves, all backlit by the setting sun. Your captain navigates toward whale activity whenever conditions and regulations allow, at no extra cost. If you're visiting in season, this is the single best way to combine Cabo's two greatest shows in one evening.

Peak sightings: January and February. Dolphins are present year-round.

What to Bring

Almost everything is already on board. The short list:

  • Biodegradable sunscreen — required to protect Cabo's marine life
  • Swimsuit, if you'd like a dip before the sun goes down
  • Towel — optional, we have fresh ones on board
  • Camera or phone — golden hour at The Arch is the shot of the trip
  • A light layer — the breeze picks up once the sun drops

"Just sailing into the sunset was the perfect Cabo experience. We've used All Ways for transportation before, so we tried their boat tour. Couldn't have been better service. The boat is not that large, which made it feel really intimate — just the two of us."
Tripadvisor reviewer
"If I could give 100 stars I would. My husband and I have now used All Ways Cabo Boat Tours twice, and both times it was a 10/10 experience. Everything from the booking process, pre-tour communication, pick up/drop off to the boat tour itself is top-notch."

"Private sailing tour — whales and dolphins. Highlight of our month in Cabo."
